Pilates For Sports will strengthen your core, develop strong balanced muscles around the joints and enable you to develop a strong stable base. This will enable you to generate explosive power when you run and when you hit or throw the ball.

EFFICIENCY 

An inefficient running stride means that you are using more energy than you need to run at that pace. Pilates for Sports teaches runners to be aware of how they are currently running and then helps runners build a strong core to ensure that every bit of power they generate goes into their running stride. This comes about through the strengthening of the powerhouse, knowledge of how to engage it and the correct tracking of the arms and legs. This controlled efficient movement will also reduce the chance of injury.

In this scenario the players arms and legs are the cannon and their wobbly core is the canoe on a lake, which can't handle the power being produced because of its instability. However, put that cannon on a concrete platform and the result is very different. From that stable base, maximum power can be directed to the cannonball, resulting in the cannon being able to fire to it’s full potential. Just as a baseball player with a strong and stable core can transfer the maximum force generated to run fast and generate maximum power from their hit, throw or pitch.
